Care Instructions

ecocube contains a plant seed package and special growing media.

  • Remove the paper sleeve from the ecocube and pull back sticker. Open the seed packet and carefully remove any stringy orange tufts attached to them with a clean knife.
  • Put seeds in a glass with luke warm water for 48 hours.
  • After 24-48 hours remove seeds from water and plant the seeds 1/2 to 1 inch deep and several inches apart. Carefully pour about 30ml of water on the planted seeds.
  • Keep the ecocube in a bright, warm place and water moderately until plants are germinating (approx. 20ml every 3 days). Make sure that the granulate doesn't dry up – avoid waterlogging!
  • Bird-of-paradise flower seeds are slow to germinate, taking up to 8 weeks to germinate. Continue to water moderately.
  • After about 1 year of growth, re-pot your bird-of-paradise plant by simply placing the entire ecocube into a pot with soil. The ecocube will slowly decompose and become a valuable fertilizer for the plant.
  • It will take 4-6 years for the plant to start blooming.
